Anyone else pick this album up yet? I loved Carnavas so when I saw this at Target for only $7.99, I jumped all over it.

Amazon has it rated at 4.2 / 5.0, which I would probably agree with. Gave it an initial listen yesterday and liked it, especially Catch and Release (track 9). A few other good ones, too.

It's continue to grow on me as the first album did as well. If you liked their earlier work, or even if you just want to try some new indie-ish rock, go grab it from Target for cheap!

Oh, and one more note. . . either the production / editing on this album was better, or they used less "distortion", or my new gear is just better, but this album sounds better on my stereo rig than Carnavas. The songs might not be better, but the sound is better. . . if that make sense.
Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850

Crap... i had no idea they even released a new album, i LOVE Carnavas.

I'm sure your rig is light years ahead of mine, but i liked the way Carnavas sounded. The distortion is just what they were going for i think... it had a real thick, warm sound to it.

I'll have to go pick this up, thanks for the heads up!
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Yea, not too shabby. I've been hooked on Metric, KoL, Yeahx3, Phoenix, Miike and a whole host of alt rock lately.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

KoL (Kings of Leon for the layman) is my favorite band that's come around the past 10 years or so. Love all their work. Aha Shake Heartbreak is my favorite album of theirs, but I could listen to all 4 front to back without thinking of hitting next on any songs.

I saw them in Dallas not too long ago and will be seeing them again in October at American Airlines Center and probably at Austin City Limits as well.

Love SSPU! Going to see them with Cage The Elephant and Manchester Orchestra early next month. Can't wait.
