Everyone,
I am looking for some weigh in on this amp. It is made by CODA for Legacy of the Whisper Loudspeaker fame. I stole the brief write up off of their legacy product page.
Continuum 4.3.2 Multichannel Amplifier
discontinued 2005
Features
True state-of-the-art multichannel performance in an affordable, hand crafted chassis
100 Watts into 8 Ohms x 4 in four channel mode
100 Watts into 8 Ohms x 2 and 400 Watts into 8 Ohms x 1 in three channel mode
400 Watts into 8 Ohms x 2 in two channel mode
Precision Bias Class A/AB, pure Class A at typical listening levels
Fully discrete FET differential input stage DC coupled to an ultra wideband bipolar output stage
Very high linear damping with no overall feedback
1.4 kVA (2.8 kVA peak) toroidal power transformer
Low impedance power supply filter capacitor array
SMOBC (solder mask over bare copper) FR-4 glass epoxy printed circuit boards
Channel status indicators
5 year limited manufacturer warranty
Designed, manufactured and assembled in the USA
Not much to go one, but it sounds worthwhile.
I ask because I have a chance to sell my ADCOM 555II to someone who needs an amp, (LSi 25's) and I was looking at the 400X2 with class A/AB operation.
I have asked the seller (CL) what the ampere capabilities are for future use with the 2.3tl's I recently bought.
Anyone want to weigh in on this? Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
I see they are making newer products on their website ( coda-continuum.com/) that sound as if some thought has gone into the build process.
Nathan

coda website says they are based in California
that is a deal for someone local.
shipping into Alaska probably is much $$. -
It is in Anchorage so it would be cheap to get it out here as I would carry it on the plane.
The seller responded and will be sending me the particulars by fax for me to read. He indicated it will carry greater than 50 amperes per channel so I think it might be suitable for use with the 2.3's.

yes... i meant that if the amplifier had to be shipped from California to Alaska
that would cost some dollars.
I watched a TV show program on PBS where a jar of peanut butter was 15 dollars !!! -
Avgas is $7.50, regular is $5.35, milk here is $11.99 a gallon, so yes, things are a little different. Price we pay for living in God's country. At least that is what we keep telling ourselves.
On another note, does reading the stat sheet I posted sound like a worthwhile amplifier, anyone?
