I've got a PSW202 and I want to get out of the severe limitations of trading up to a better model at CC. Could I trade it up for another sub at CC, return the new sub within 30 days, and thusly get all the money back? Is there some goofy rule agianst that or did I just find a 12 month return policy?

Nope can't be done, I have bought and traded up at CC for years and know just about all the ins & outs, I assume you got the 202 free?? if so, what you can do is tell them you want to upgrade, and they usually will put your credit on a gift card.. if not then your screwed, But i got this info right from a customer service girl @ CC, they tell you to use the gift card only for speakers and only for the upgrade, but you can infact use it anywhere in the store on anything.. or sell it via e-bay which alot of people do and you lose minimal cash and get all your money back.. But let me tell you if the sub was the freebie then they will give you heck to upgrade it or get any value back, hence it was free, you paid no money out in the first place.. Although it can be done, i did it.. actually my in-laws with some help from my wife traded in my Free 202 and got 249.00 credit and got me the 404 for X-mas and put out like only 160.00 cash i guess for a 400 buck sub.. so it can be done.. hope this helps.. if it wasn't free then why did you buy it and now don't want it?? just curious??

CC has some nice velo and polk subs to offer so i wouldn't be so fast to dismiss their line of subs unless you want an SVS or something, and if it was FREE then enjoy it and deal with it or upgrade to a better one like 404 or 450 when you can find them... Hope this helps.. i consider myself to be kinda a pro at CC and there whole upgrade deal as i have done this since like 1995 when i bought my first REAL setup to start this whole audio thing

Well, actually I kinda talk outa my **** sometimes. Now I will probably keep it for the rear sub once the sytem is *entirely* completed. It will be filtered at 60hz just because it's not really hard to bottom it out, but it still helps to have some thumpage in the back. I will -try- to do a diy sub after some experiments with disposable ratshack drivers and things before moving on to more serious matters. If I can't do that, then yes, I will just bite the bullet and go SVS.

But thanks for telling me more about the beauracracy (sp?) that is CC.

Actually, it would depend on the CC. When I traded my CS245i in on a CS400i, I brought in the 245, they refunded me the purchase price in cash. I then, bought the CS400i. Totally clean new purchase. So, in theory, I probably could have done what faster has in mind. Where faster got the sub free and CC can tell, I guess he would be SOL.

Since I TRY to be an ethical guy (there are those who disagree) I wouldn't do it, but it could be done I suppose.

Resurecting the dead here, but hey why start a new thread

Can you trade in speakers that were paid for on trade in already? On the site they say no, but since all the other rules seem to be flexible I'm just wondering.

e.g. - you have Subwoofer X, which you traded in for Subwoofer Y. Can you trade in Sub Y for speakers Z?
