Matching to my RT600's...
OK, the wife has OK'd me spending $500 on speakers for when we move into our new house. Would have been more, but we just had to replace the roof on our current house when we sold it. I have a very unmatched set right now, with an old KLH center, RT600's up front, and some wharfedale towers in the back. I'll want to get new rears and a new enter, and will be getting an AR sub from a friend for $80.
So that leaves me $400 for the center and rears. The wife wants the rears to be wall mounted, so I was thinking of some RT25's or 28's, or ever 15's if i can find them. And then looking at the CSi30 center.
will this work?
Thanks in advance

That would work just dandy. Don't forget to consider the Atrium series for rear duty either, they can be had for $129 all over Ebay.

thanks russman, but do the atrium series sound the smae as their repective indoor only RTi counterparts, given the same woofer and tweeter sizes?
Thanks,

No, the are not the exact same, but pretty damn close. The Atrium starts out a little bright, but a decent break-in really seems to smooth things out. They actually match my RT7's fairly well.

OK, i think I'm going to get the csi30 center, the f/x300i rears and the free sub from crutchfield. Will the csi30 go good with my RT600's, or should i look for a cs400?

I would go with the CS400 if you can, the larger drivers make a big difference. Plus the CS400 has matching drivers and tweeters. If you can afford the 400, go for it. It's a much more powerful speaker. My RT800i's drowned out my CS245i, so I bought the CS400i and it matches perfecetly now.

It may be quite difficult to find a 400i unless you look around the used market. If you can't find the 400i you can get it's replacement, the CSi40. You should be fine with the 30 though, but if you want to go big then definately check out the 400, 400i or 40.

Thanx Venom. You're doing very well too. I remember those pics you posted. Your system looks much sweeter than mine(SDA and LSi in the same room, oh man...). Actually, I don't make very good money. I work in a restaurant 3 times a week(full time in the summer). Whatever little money I earn is saved up and spent only on gear. My credit card is used for software.

Its great to be a kid!!!!!!!!!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I bought a used CS400 to use as my rear center between my RT600 surrounds within the last year for $150. Go to some of the home theater forums and let it be known you are looking for one. You may get lucky, like I did.

I agree- A really big difference. I didnt think it would be that big of a deal until I actually got one, and it rocks. I also had a setup similar to BeginnersLuck, it was 800i's, and 35i's along with a cs245i. Then when I got my own rig (the above is my fathers)
I brought home two rt2000's and two f/x 500's, along with the cs400i. It really changed the front stage, and I definitely wouldnt go with anything less than a 400. (Or even a csi40 now) But it is worth it. Mike
