Finally ordered a Onkyo 706, it should be delivered today, and figured that I would looking into getting a power center. Something better than the $20 surge protector that I'm using now.

I guess I've been looing at the following 2.

Monster HDP 2500
Belkin Pure AV PF60

Are there any others out there that I should keep my eye open for? I can get the PF60 for a little over 200 shipped is the best deal i can find so far. The Monster HDP 2500 is a bit over my budget, but if it is a better unit I would think about it. Is there any sites I should be watching for them? My budget is going to be around 200+ for this.

Thanks

I picked up a Monster HTS 3500 MkII on ebay for 100 shipped. It seems to work fine for what I have. Might want the 5000 or 5100 for a HT.

    What about the Panamax M5300-EX?
    http://www.amazon.com/Panamax-M5300-EX-Outlet-Power-Conditioner/dp/B000ATEVVK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1247255415&sr=8-2

    Or the APC H15?

I'm actually interested in the members' responses here. I am in the market for a power conditioner as well and am not sure which route to go. Anyone have some input?

I have the APC H15. Does not seem to hurt or help my audio(which I think is good) but the video is much better on my 73" Mits RPTV.

Light years ago when I worked at Best Buy and sold computer they always told us that is doesn't matter how good a surge protector you have because a lighting storm will fry even the best out there.

I've heard that as long as you have over 100K Joules of protection, you should be ok from local surges or fluctuations in power deliver through the line.

I would simply unplug the surge suppressor from the wall during a severe storm, and watch tv on something cheap that can easily be replaced to check weather forecasts.

I have always used APC battery backups for my computers. They have always worked well for me. I'll look into that APC H15 also...

Is this piece of equipment worth the money spent? I guess that is my big question. I know that alot of it is purely subjective, but that's what I wanna hear. What people think.

Has anyone tried using a TVSS unit that protects the whole house?
