Hey I'm wondering what people are paying for SDA2's these days. I've got an opportunity to get my hands on a set of 2's with som minor cosmetic damage to the veneer on one of the corners and a damaged interconnect cable for $225 and while that sounds like a great price (even with the damage) I wanted to double-check.

Thanks,
~Matt

Offer a little less and see what happens. Maybe $180? Still, if they are 2b's they are worth $225 all day.

I don't think they're 2B's. They are the 2-tweeter design with 2 woofers on one side and 1 on the other (I apologize for my total lack of SDA knowledge here).

I also recognized the SL2000s from the photo he sent me.

Oh really? That's interesting. What's the advantage of the single tweeter design over the 2-tweeter design?

The guy also has a set of 2.3's but he said he's not sure he wants to part with them (I also don't have the type of cash available to persuade him either).

    Thanks

Polk discontinued that right/left tweeter design because one of those tweeters was wired in a manner similar to the SDA mid-woofer...the two tweets interfered with each other.

Future SDA designs aligned the tweeters vertically, in the center, and under each other and had only the mid-woofers' L/R crossed-over for the SDA effect. This turned out to be a more propitious design.

Others can comment more on this 'history'.
