Wow, I volunteered to be a mod on another board

I volunteered to be a mod for a political forum on another board I frequent. When these hyena's found out they were about to be moderated, you'd have thought someone had gut shot them.

I've never heard so much chimpscreaming from a bunch of adults. Some people need to understand that even if the board is private, that doesen't give them carte blanche (sp) to say whatever that want. If some of those "adults" said the kind of stuff they're saying while they were standing in my house, they'd never be allowed throught my front door again.

Tomorrow that forum reopens with moderators, and it'll be interesting to see who can follow the rules.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

    Good luck, especially on a political forum! Quite emotional, personnal attacks and all, not counting if they haven't been used to be moderated for a long time... will take time and patience before mods can positively get anywhere!

    I'm a mod on another board, too - thankless job.

    Sometimes I get tired of playing 'mommy' or the the 'shrink'.

    I hope you don't burn out. :)

    H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

    It's a thankless job on any forum. You will quickly find out if you dont ban or administer appropiate sanctions people will hate you, if you do these things people will hate you :D

    Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    Not to mention the occassional a-hole who will threaten legal action cuz his feelings were hurt.
