Finally got around to watching this and wow, quite an impressive film; from the amazing cinematography, the acting, to the story (based on a true one), this film delivers.
If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

Keira Knightley.
my vote yes -
Watched this night before last. I was impressed with the movie, but something seemed off about the video. A lot of scenes on the BD seemed oddly washed out. It bothered me so much that after the movie, I gave my projector a re-check with the AVS HD patterns and double checked with GetGray. I even did a quick grayscale check with my EyeOne. All is well with my Z2000, so I'm guessing it was just the movie. (Funny how I spent almost as much time checking and tweaking my gear as I did actually watching the movie. Damn stupid home theater habit!)Equipment list:
Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

I saw this awhile back on BD. As I recall I enjoyed it, though I think I had some issues with Keira's performance. Something didn't ring true. I didn't see much depth in a very meaty role. Fiennes was awesome in a terrificly understated and subtle performance. None of the chairs in the 17th/18th century looked comfortable .
