Dude, it's not too late to back out. I used to buy cool toys for myself, and now that I'm married I can't buy anything, and a cool toy is considered the chainsaw I got for Fathers Day.

J/K Congrats on the pending nuptuials!

Yeah, I lost my wedding band in Iraq 5 months after I got married and I told my wife (don't ever do that)

Good luck with the wifey, mine has been a pretty good deal so far. I took her to Santorini, Greece and we loved it.

    Let the cliches begin...

... and another one bites the dust.

... so long, nice to have known you.

... that ring come with a ball-n-chain attachment?

... here's to 50 years of her mother saying you've never been good enough.

... here's to 25 years of her dad calling you 'nah lissen here boy' until he dies of lung cancer on your front lawn.

... father takes his son to Rite Aid. Kid looks at an aisle fulla condoms and asks, "Daddy, what are these for?". Father replies, well, the two-pack is for high school - one's for the weekend with your girlfriend, the other is to keep in your wallet just in case. This three-pack is for when you're in college - that's Friday Night, Saturday Night, and Sunday morning breakfast after Denny's." Kid figures it makes sense, but looks at a 10 pack and asks the father what that's for... Father replies, "Well that's for when you're married -- your 5th anniversary, the day she asks for a bigger house and you try to distract her, the day you tell her you want a motorcycle and she tries to distract you, 4 times when she realizes she's gotten really fat and is scared you're going to leave her for another woman, twice when she's trying to get knocked up because every woman's got to have a matching set of kids, and one to keep in your wallet, just in case your wife isn't around and you run into someone nicer." They go home, and the kid immediately tells his mother, "Mommy, mommy, I asked him just like you said, the last one is in his wallet."

But, for what its worth, I'm happy for you. ;)

    Congrats

I just got married on June 20th and we went to Key West - another excellent location - especially good in June as all the prices dropped.........the reception was over in the blink of an eye and the honeymoon went by soooo fast - back at work now - how depressing.........

Enjoy - getting married is a great time.....

    LOL!

Seriously, I got married when I was 21. I'm 30 now. We have a kid, we've lived the rougher side of finances, and we're still the best of friends.

I hope that for the example of what relationships can and should be, you and your future spouse can communicate effectively with love and clear heads. And I hope that you are each others' best friends. Don't be a crutch and don't use your spouse as one.
Remember, always, you are a team against every single adversary in the world.

Congrats and the best of luck to your new family.

Don't do it. She will make you get rid of all your stereo equipment.

Sure she is fine with it now but later down the line it will be..."Those speakers are too big", "Do we really need that big box over int he corner that thumps the house", "What do you mean that speakers are not good places to put my plants on?"

I can go on and on and on with that stuff.

    Just kidding. Congrats!

that reminded me of a high school mate

He bought her a diamond engagement ring

She bought him a Phase Linear 400 amp and matching preamp and pair of POLK Monitor 12 if memory is correct.

    He later became a Doctor.
Obviously she got the better end of the deal. The diamond is worth a heck of alot more than the stereo gear now.

    CONGRATULATIONS !!!
