probably a dumb question but how do i connect two amps to my speaks. i have an xpa 3 hooked to my frt 3 but was contemplating a biamp for my l/r by buying an addl amp. now i just need to know how the interconnect from my avr can feed 2 amps and if having 2 different brands would be ill advised

Go buy a "y" adapter for left and right.
Make that 2 "Y" adapters for L/R, which amps for what speakers? -
200 watts is more than enough for rti 10's no need to bi-amp unless you're running them at crazy levels. You might not hear a big diference.

i read a couple of threads here about "vast" improvements in sound with biamp on the 10's. i searched the tweak forum and a few guys say that short of replacing these with a better speaker that biamping should help in 2 channel. i also just wanted to know how guys hook up seperate amps to the biamp terminals if the avr can only feed l/r individually, who knows, i may just unload the rti's and go with my mon 70's in the main roomSamsung pn64f8500

I would not bi-amp with two different brands. You can do it but I would not. The sound and gain could not match.Sunfire TGP, Sunfire Cinema Grand, Sunfire 300~2 (2), Sunfire True Sub (2),Carver ALS Platinum, Carver AL III, TFM-55, C-19, C-9, TX-8, SDA-490t, SDA-390t

Leroy is right about the Rtis and power...and this also applies to the M70s.
Are you saying that you can't 'hear' a difference with a power amp running your RTIs? Because I can hear a pretty reasonable difference between running my M70s off a Denon 110 watt/channel receiver and a 200 watt/channel power amp...they sound so much better with the extra power!

cnh,
the rti's opened up a bit when i added the addl power, and the better i/c's and speaker wire, but... they still seem to be missing something to me. the sound is just tiring after short listening sessions and i don't think i'm getting a true reproduction of the original source, granted i'm using a ps3 for my streaming/cd player so maybe this is all a source issue. thanx for the replies guysSamsung pn64f8500

yes, i'm using my avr for the rears and surround rears. not sure what you mean "amp reconfigure" , and i know this isn't a dedicated h/t room so i have to live with the acoustics of the room, being the waf and all. i guess i'm just looking for a simple fix to my quetionable sound quality. i do try and push the system to 90dbs for short durations just to see the way the frts behave, so untill i keep adjusting and tweaking i have to live with what i have. i just found a good deal for some outlaw m2200's and wanted to see if they would make a diffSamsung pn64f8500
