DD and DTS on the same disc....?

Anyone else notice that the discs as a late have been coming out with both formats on them have been of lower quality.
I find it very disappointing that the DTS soundtrack is being stripped down in order to fit it on with the DD tracks. Both formats seem to be of equal quality. I used to prefer DTS, but now it's not worth it anymore. DD is jsut as good as DTS if it is recored well (example: SWE I & II). I would rather have one really good recording in DD or DTS than two compromised recordings in both!
What happened to the day of seperate disc and consumer choice?
example: Saving Private Ryan (DD or DTS)...not both.
What do you guys think?

Even though dts and dd are together as one, I still, 99% of the time, prefer the dts track and can hear the dif. But, there are a few (like the latest Stargate release) where the dts track sucks compared to the dd track.
Peace Out~:DIf...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.
