Hi folks hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th. Im new hear so please go easy. I've been lurking around for a while and I figure I should ask you folks about your thoughts on buying out of Canada. There's a set of Polk speakers I want on ebay Canada for bid.I've bought a lot of stuff on ebay with good luck just don't know about this Canada thing.ie:shipping,customs that stuff. Didn't know if this would be the right place to post so here it goes.

    Welcome to CP. Depending how they are sold there could be extra cost never mind the shipping cost.

    If possible try to find something local, Houston is a big market. I live in Plano and have in-laws in Houston so if there is something you find in the Dallas area I could scope it out and possibly deliver.

    Thank you. I'm looking for a black pair of RTI a5's.I do have a posting in WTB but its only been a few days.I dont need to steal them but dont want to pay too much either.It may not be realalistic on my part but Tweeter had them here on liquidation for 478.00 a pair new and I could kick myself for not buying them then. My plans have changed since and there's the rub.

    I purchased my amp from Canada. Buyer paid full shipping costs but I was still expected to pay a duty tax of $50 or so when I got it. (bill came after I had recieved it - out of the blue from UPS a few days after I got the amp) Kind of pissed me off since I was not expecting it and buyer included all invoices so I know they attempted to pay all shipping charges on their end.

    Not sure if you would face the same thing or not, but at least wanted you to be aware of it.

    I live in Canada and one tip I can give you is don't ship anything cross border UPS or FED-EX. The extra "brokerage" fees are totally riduculous. Most of my cross border shipping is handled by USPS or Canada Post. Just as reliable and no "hidden" charges as described above. My two cents. Good luck and welcome to Club Polk.

    That's great info to know-Thank you, his listing says shipping USPS priority for $45.00 and I wasnt sure about the usps cross border thing.

    Start kicking, lol. RTi A5's are about $400-$450 a piece new. Should have jumped on that one when you had the chance, but I can say I have been in the same boat myself, lol. Good luck and hope you find em.
