stupid question..speaker wire vs. cable

ok, i have to admit this is a real dumb question but i have never really thought about it much. but, present circumstances makes me ask. can i use speaker wire, on a temporary basis, in place of component cabling? i need to run cables between my amp and preamp to my newly built sub. i have lots of speaker wire that is long enough but nothing cable wise. i do not wish to buy cables in the feet i need until i know where i am going to place the sub, and i cant place my sub till i can hear it :)

    it is not recommended to use speaker wire as an interconnect component cable.

    this is purely a very temporary solution. just want to see where the sub is going to sound the best and then will get the appropriate length cables. i have plenty of good heavy speaker wire and nakamichi rca banana's.

    Run your speaker wire to your sub, and then from the sub to your mains using the speaker terminal out/ins on the AVR and sub.

    umm, cant do that. this is an audio pro sub from sweden with the din cable. b1-45
