I ordered some stuff from Woot, which is based right here in Dallas area. Their facility seems to be in Irving, TX where I work as well. I live about 10 miles from Irving, in Bedford TX. Now I am looking at their Fedex tracking info...

Picked up
IRVING, TX

Departed FedEx location
PHOENIX, AZ

From Irving, TX to Phoenix, AZ to Bedford, TX.

So this TRIP A option turns into this TRIP B option. It's only a 6 days and 2000 miles difference...

Not that these shipping arrangements really surprise me, this happened to me earlier:

I think in both instances, woot had the item dropped shipped from the manufacturer or another retailer (which resides in a different location in different states) directly to the consumer. But they create dropped shipped label so it's showing as their location as the shipper but item is shipped from a different warehouse, etc.

Most likely, as the time between Irving, TX and Yuma, AZ is only a few hours. That's something I suspected but Fedex should just then show the "picked up" as Yuma, AZ. :)

It depends on whether the package got scanned at pickup or not. Sometimes, the package didn't get scanned at picked up but at the distribution hub. It it gets scanned at hub, I think it doesn't show pickup in data.
