Anyone for 9.1 http://www.audyssey.com/technology/dsx.html

I think SDA's would achieve a similar result as the wide channels in this set up.I would be interested to find out what processing (if any) they are doing with these 2 extra channels. The addition of height channels is an interesting concept.

Darn...Did they steal my idea of height oriented multi-surround channels?

Good Grief! I should have patented my design in the early stage. :D

Why go 9.1 when you can go 16.something already?

Yep, These are 2 Acurus A200x3 I sold here. The picture was taken when I was testing the amps before shipping. The room is quite comfortable with speakers. The wifey never complains since she can save money from going to movies. :D

Tomlinson Holman has been experimenting with 10.2 surround for many years. Unfortunately, he does not have very much information on his web site anymore.

I am sure you can still find information by searching.

When I completed the audio room eight years ago, I prewired it for 10.2 plus a couple other locations for future compatibility. Everyone thought I was crazy. Looks like I might be able to use it sooner than expected.

I remember reading about an impressive 10.2 demo that TH did at a CES a few years ago using an all Bryston /PMC active system. It will be interesting to see how many manufacturers will intoduce products with the extra channels.Speaker companies would certainly rejoice if the concept took off.For the time being I think I will stick with my 5.4 set up.

I think dolby llz will be predominant for now .I really wish movies started rolling out tomorrow with it encoded but this 9.1 would be better for larger screens in ht
