SS cards at least in iowa you can get at the social security office depends on how quick you need them I think that they usually only take about a week. As far as the birth certs um not sure on that maybe the court house where they were born. Hopefully this helps a little.

    Best regards

For Birth Certificates, you can contact the hospital they were born at and they can get them for you and tell you how much they cost.

Birth certs you can get at the County records office........the county they were born in not where you reside now if different. Be prepared to pay if you need them certified.

SS card from your local Dept of Social Security......be prepared to pay probably about $10 a piece.

When dealing with local state and fed gov't nothing is quick

Took like a week for my wifes new card to come in when we got married and she took my last name. It was 12 dollars in cali for us, far as birth certificates you can contact the hospital where they were born like brettw22 said or go online and order it (you'd be surprised how many places will come up). Wife ordered hers and got a certified copy that I needed to provide for my marriage-status in the military. Hope this helps!

Good luck with that. Years ago I needed to have the last name on my Birth Certificate corrected because it didn't match all other records I had (Ellis Island record--grandfather), I was born in Eastern Pa. and the records are outside of Pittsburgh, over 300 miles away. I needed to have this done in a day or so...so I had to drive out there and back in one day so I could get an official copy of the corrected B.C. for legal purposes. In Pa. the STATE houses those records at a central location.

    Hope Georgia is less problematic!

ben, you getting these will not be a problem. You getting them fast on the other hand is a whole other issue. I had to do the same for our kids before enrolling in a new insurance plan after I got a new job. I had to take 2 days off of work (one for the birth certificate and one for the social security cards). Had to go to the state social security office and the office of vital records. There is nothing quick about these places!!!! I sat for hours waiting for my name to be called and when I got to the window handed them the form and paid my money. It took more time to get the actual documents. It reminded me a lot of the MVA - no urgency at all in any of the employees.

    Good luck!

Usually the courthouse or Dept of Vital Records will provide the birth certificate. Have all your papers in order; such as Divorce-custody-visitation orders. Proof of who you are and relationship to kids. May have to do it in person at the county of birth. Good luck with this one. Same paperwork with SS#. Check the website as they may have info on obtaining a copy of their card. socialsecurity.gov

Your kids worked for the SS?

Wow, you must be like 110 years old, the kids would have had to be at least in their 20's by the 1930's or so.
