Fantastic film, watched it on Blu last night. Great PQ but something is up with the sound from the front channel, had to understand voices, too loud or too soft at times. I did have to bump my CC up a notch and all was fine but there were a couple scenes where the voices were then too loud. Not sure what, if anything is wrong or if it was done with intention.

Eh... It was just okay for me. Everyone's good in it, but nothing really stands out and I don't think it's worth owning. I had the same issue with dialogue being very inconsistent, even when I had Dynamic EQ engaged.

I would not own this one... saw it in the theater... it was top notch acting, of course (Depp is my favorite male actor by far) but I just didn't get into this. It kinda dragged along, and didn't hold my attention.

I might give it another try on video... wasn't impressed in the theater version though.

The acting was great across the board, i just wasn't really THAT drawn in by the storyline. I'm glad i watched it, but i won't buy it.

    Bale's accent pissed me off.

Agreed with Ron. The BD had very good PQ and SQ. I mean picture perfect to me. Well worth the coin. Good movie from start to finish. I was hoping Johnny lived...........but. The music was also very good in this one, some real old stuff.

It was ok. I don't mind a movie with a slow pace IF the story is intriguing enough to carry it. However I too fell asleep half way through watching this. I resumed it later and was reasonably entertained to the end. What I didn't like was the lack of character development. I ended up not caring about anyone in the film and because of that found the whole movie to be somewhat cold. I contrast this film with Road To Perdition where I actually was sad when the cold blooded killer played by Tom Hanks dies. That movie had feeling and depth. Public Enemies just told the story the way the screenwriter saw it. Not much emotion until the end with John's girlfriend. One thumb sideways.
