Where's Nikolas? From the grille on top, and faux grille on the bottom, that looks like the RT600i or RT800i, maybe. The smaller speaker is probably a matching RT25i or RT35i. The center channel will also be from that generation.

Pricing seems reasonable for the package IMO, even if the receiver is useless.

I'll agree with the towers either being 600/800/i's. Whether you go out in person or get pictures of them, models with either the blue or black woofer are virtually the same exact speaker. (the blue cones being the "i" series). Given the price I doubt they are powered towers as I own a pair myself. Hope it helped a bit.

OH also wanted to add, if the center channel is a 245/400/i, it's timbre matched to the rt series. I'm actually on the market looking for that center, best of luck!

Probably the Rt25i, the Rt600i and the cs245i.

What is the deal with such cheap speakers on CS these days! Those look like RT1000's or RT2000's for the towers. Not sure about the bookshelves. Looks like it might be a CS400 center channel from the looks of the grill. Run, don't walk to check those out!

No kidding dpowell, wonder how john did with those rt3000ps for what was it, 300 bucks? jesus..

I only said they MIGHT be non-powered given the price for the 'package deal' but...are those cords behind the tower possibly connected to the tower itself? If so then at the least it's a 1000p..

Polk RTs being run off an RCA receiver? That's something you don't see, and perhaps shouldn't see very often...but that is a GREAT PRICE for a HT (RT) package!

    Okay, some further investigation:

    1) Center Channel

This cannot be the CS400i, since this speaker does not use the stick on logo on the grille cloth. It is almost certainly the CS245i: an excellent center IMO, but not nearly as good as the CS400i, although in many systems the difference between thte two may not be night and day. The CS245i does such a good job that it really seems to take a certain type of amplification to make the CS400(i) sing that much better than it.

If it's anything less than a CS245i, I wouldn't get too excited about it, since the lesser center speakers from this range would be worth $50 at best IMO.

    2) Towers

This cannot be the older generation RT600/RT800, since these earlier models did not have the faux grille on the bottom half, but some sort of felt finish instead. They are very probably RT600i or RT800i. They will have the blue colored drivers in either case, but the RT800i will have two main drivers and a tweeter, whereas the RT600i will only have one main driver and a tweeter.

These are excellent HT speakers IMO, and can be quite surprising when properly driven. I have had the best results from my NAD receiver and the JoLida hybrid and would certainly prefer the 800i to the 600i.

They could, possibly be RT1000i also, which will be obvious, since those are powered towers (with a power cord, obviously). In this case, check for faulty amps, as well as the usual recommended driver function checks.

    http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/rt1000i/

    3) Bookshelf Speakers

From the relative dimensions (H vs. W vs. logo size), these are too short to be the RT35i, so they must be the 25i, which will certainly get the job done for surround duty.

... And that is all I have to say about that!

Look to me as RT800i or RT600i, nice price for the setup. RT800i had 2 mid woofers where the RT600i had one, just so you know.

Well she gave me a partial answer, $150 for just the speakers without the AVR, she said she will get back to me on the model #'s. If the speakers are clean is it worth it?

The towers alone are worth $150 in good condition IMO (no cloth tears and nothing other than very few very minor dings or scratches that cannot be seen without looking very closely). In fact, they can sell for $200 or more, although I haven't checked any recent pricing on eBay sales. For all of the five speakers, if that's what she means, $150 is outstanding, and she's making a big mistake thinking the RCA is worth as much as they are.

Those speakers will normally have identification labels on the rear, but they frequently become unstuck and get lost.

it would be ironic if this was a divorce sale and the person selling was getting rid of her ex's HT system... ouch

I wouldn't read that much into it. A lot of people get rid of these larger speakers because they want new, compact satellite sytems instead, or surround bars and other new technologies. We are the freaks that dream about these larger units!

I think im gonna jump on this. Here is her email just now " But the only thing is that the center and the towers do not have any labels saying anything about a model #. The only thin I can see is a small label which says RT and then a series of numbers. the small speakers say RT25i Not sure if that helps, but you can always come and look at them. They work really well. OK talk to you soon.

thanks for the help guys, a good bedroom set for sure.
