2 (Technically 4) Subs and phase switch question

So I've been messing with placement and cross over cut offs for the past 4 days (pretty much when my velodyne came from cali). Before it came out here I was tweaking around with my PSW10 (temporary purchase). So ok I got placement down, cut offs, now I'm not sure if I'm completely done but;
1. Is it normal on the back of subwoofers (2 different types) for each one to be on a diff phase setting for them to both be in the correct phase? (I.E. one is on 180 and the other is on 0)?
2. I say I'm not exactly done because, well you're supposed to play bass-rich audio to exploit the phase switch problem. My towers have built-in subs and I'm not even sure if I'm cancelling the bass from my towers with my two subwoofers that are stacked. I can't have someone sit in my sweet spot unfortunately because I just moved out here and can't trust my neighbor to come in my place and help me out (he's broken into the apartment across from me). Just wondering if it was this much a pain for anyone else running multiple subs but would like my first question answered. Thanks CP members, you have all taught me alot in the short time here and I'll continue to put forth my experience and knowledge to those whom may need it.

Let your ear be the judge as to which position allows your subwoofer and speakers to perform optimally. Usually there is a drastic and obvious difference between both settings(180-0). If you hear no difference, then I recommend keeping the switch set at 0 degrees.
You should have your towers crossed-over IMO, even with the built in subs. You of course can try a lower x-over setting such as 50-40hz (40hz would be ideal as it is physically a longer wave length and would be easier to integrate with). Now if you had a sub in the front part of your room and one in the pack I would suggest running the rear one at 180. Using my SMS-1 on different setup's I've always had better results this way. -
I'm trusting my ear on this one thus far, but my gut says otherwise. I had one in front one in back, both front, one beside each tower and found the best placement in my back corner stacked. As far as x-over for my towers, my reciever only does 80-100-120-160 so I've got it set at 80 and speaker size to Large (I've found large or small doesn't do much a difference as the built-in sub still plays, and setting it to large just leaves the built-in cross over to filter out frequencies to set-drivers). As far as the phase switch, thanks. I got it so far but as I said one is at 180, the other at 0 and this sounds ideal.Truck setup
