Outlaw 970 for $299 - Good for two channel pre?

Wondering what people think of the Outlaw 970 for $299 as a two channel pre with bass management.
Waste of money? Or fine deal for two channel pre?
It's a bit outdated on the whole surround sound processor thing, only has 5.1 input. But that's not what I'm concerned with.
Currently using older HK as two channel preamp.

I have the Outlaw 970 and it is okay all around. Does not do anything great but does nothing really bad either.Sunfire TGP, Sunfire Cinema Grand, Sunfire 300~2 (2), Sunfire True Sub (2),Carver ALS Platinum, Carver AL III, TFM-55, C-19, C-9, TX-8, SDA-490t, SDA-390t
