I have owned a pr. of these for 25 yrs. and of all the speakers I own, my wife has always said " If we get divorced, the ESS's go with me". They do sound amazing:D.
"Sound as clear as light" was their logo. They are holografic.
Kind of like Ohm Walsh's speakers are.I owned a pr. of the Ohm 2's. Amazing speakers there too.

I didn't even know this type of transducer existed.
Too cool! -
I just recently sold my ESS AMT 1B's that were restored and in great shape. Fantastic speakers for vintage gear or tube gear. They will make your ears bleed with any gear that is warm or hot on the top end!DKG999

The Elac 243's I had(until this week), use a form of the AMT. I didn't have a problem with the highs, on the gear I used them with. They were actually very pleasing to listen to, and had an extremely wide, and deep, sound stage.
I am going to miss them...Tschüss
