A few weeks ago there were a couple of threads regarding power regulators/conditioners etc, so I just thought I would give fellow polkies a heads up. I believe the H15 was $99 at one point, but I missed that one:(
I've been looking around for either a H10 or a H15 the last few weeks and this is the best I could find.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4197031&Sku=A75-2071

Warning: The shipping charges at TD don't make no sense. When I placed the H10 in my cart it showed a shipping charge of $19.99. Then I added a flash drive and the total shipping dropped to $6.99. Just something to consider.

I apologize if this thread belongs in another section.

Thanks for the heads up...if these are still on sale in the next few days I may be picking one up. That's a pretty good deal.

As far as the shipping goes, a lot of places offer shipping discounts on orders over a set amount. That could be the case here. If I pick one up, I'll have to see if there's something else real cheap I need...maybe I can save a few bucks by spending a little more money(weird logic huh? :p).

    CC,

What was your experience with the shipping?

You probably made a smart move. I read (amazon I think) that their clearing out their inventory of silver models - the black models are not discounted. So the deals may not be around much longer. heck it is only $99 bucks.

I ended up having to pay 19.99 for shipping. I tried adding another item to the cart that only cost about 4 bucks, and it didn't make the shipping any cheaper.

I read on the site that they offer shipping for $1.99 on orders over $100, but only if the total order is less than 20 lbs. The shipped weight of the H10 is 20.4 lbs...so it just misses that deal unfortunately.

I figured I might as well order one now, before the deal runs out. I've been looking at the APC power conditioners recently, and was planning on getting an H15, but I think the H10 will work just fine. There are only really a few differences between them.

12 amp max. input in the H10 versus 15 amp max input in the H15
4949 joules of surge capacitance in the H10 versus 5270 joules in the H15

Other than that they're about the same. Tiger Direct has the H15's for 199.99, which would have been a stretch right now. I think the H10 will work great though.

Those were my my thoughts as well - fairly similar. Mine should be here tomorrow.

As for the shipping, sorry it did not work. They have to get some new programmers . For a brief period I saw the H15 for $149. Then it went up to $199 over the course of a few minutes.

I bought a couple H15s for $148 shipped (per). Liking them very much so far. Sold my more expensive conditioners (MIT Z-Iso) and Monster HTS-5100SS or other and really haven't seen/heard a difference.

The APC stuff seems to be built really well (hefty, good parts) and is attractive.

Andy, have you used it with a powered sub? Any issues? I heard that the amps in some subs sometimes do not "get along with" the APC. I concerned with my Lsi25s.

I haven't plugged a sub into any power conditioner. Usually put them directly into the wall. I have plugged my receiver through it an doesn't seem to affect anything (no power loss noticed, no hums). Black/silent when it's supposed to be, and hits hard when it's supposed to.

Any particular reason? Do you have an opinion regarding my Lsi25s, which have powered subwoofers? IS it unsafe in some way?

Cool. I'm waiting for the UPS guy to deliver mine. It'll be nice to have others (you and comfycurt) with the same model to consult if questions arise. The 80X series Onks are probable the sweet spot in the line-up. Congrats!

The manual does not recommend turning the unit on and off -- it recommends leaving it on. As far as I can tell they are either all on or all off.

    Starkiller,
There is clearly some confusion here. Just as with a run of the mill surge protector, you can leave the electricity "flowing" but turn your equipment on and off as you please. I know there is some electricity being used when a TV is off (so that it can power on quickly) but this is no different than if you leave a device plugged into a wall outlet.

I think many use their surge protector as a convenient means to hit 1 switch to turn everything plugged in to it On and Off.

Do you mean while the equipment is on? Is that good for the gear? One of the purpose of the voltage regulation devices like the H10 is to keep the voltage stable. I'd be inclined to think that cutting off the power abruptly time after time you are finished watching TV cannot be good the equipment.

Anyway, I suspect it is the voltage regulation that makes APC advise not turning it on and off frequently.
