How do you get any of that in that room?

...Re "tired" ! ...with a lot of time on my HANDS. The Avance Epsilon's aren't mine....For SALE....just storing them. Best speaker I "couldn't" afford.

...Luv the soundstage of the 7b's even with BAD placement...too far apart. Maggies are located RIGHT .

......anybody know what improvements can be gained by rebuilding the crossovers? My hands shake too much to probably solder...but would like to know what I am missing. I "Wouldn't " upgrade the tweeter's . Like speakers as Stock as possible. Rebuilding is fine.

...Any "Links" to reviews or experiences?

Congrats! Those are some great sounding speakers. They sound waay too good considering how much they tend to sell for. I doubt my 7A's will ever leave me.

You wouldn't be able to upgrade to the RD0's without extensive modification anyway. The cutout for the Peerless tweets is a little larger, so the opening would have to be filled a little bit. The Peerless tweets also use an extra resistor in the signal path, which would have to be removed to get good results out of the RD0's.

IMO the Peerless tweets have nothing to envy compared to the RD0-194's. I've got a pair of SDA 2A's with RD0's and some Peerless 7A's...I wouldn't say that either one sounds better than the other personally. The Peerless is really laid back and open, where as the RD0's are a bit more detailed and forward sounding. Depending on the material, I tend to prefer the Peerless tweets a lot of the time.

    ....I drive them with a Classic B&K pro10mc pre into a B&K St140 amp.

Tough decision now. I have 4 Classics from that era fighting for space.

    Dahlquest M907 - last of the Great Dahl's - 3 way

IMF CM 3 - the British sound of the 80's - 3 way

Genesis Physics II - the New England sound of the 80's - 2 way

....had refoam jobs done on all above. 3 ways win but not by much. I love the IMF's but to tell the truth I could settle on any one of this group.

The Polk Monitor 7B's are a bargain...half of what the next cheapest cost me used. Readers ask WHY are they so expensive....I ask why are they bargain basement priced. The drivers alone are worth $120.00 on used market.

    ...Enjoy the Music
