Anyone out there that haves a pair that they would consider to sell please let me know.Would really like black and in good condition. Would it be worth upgrading? Live in Chicago area.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

Do you have these speakers bi-amped? Maybe you're just not getting the best out of them

IMO, it would be very worth upgrading. Myself, and others, feel the the RTi10's(RTiA7's) are a bit lackluster compared to the RTi8's(A5's) and RTi12's(A9's).

Because the 10's only have one mid-range driver, they're a little drier in the mid-range area than the other RTi floorstanders IMO. The RTi's are rather bright by their nature, and having only one mid driver makes the brightness a lot more prominent.

When I was first looking at speakers for my HT system, I did a lot of comparisons between the three floorstanders in the RTi series. I very much preferred the A5's to the A7's. The A9's were the best of the three, but I didn't have the coin to spring for them. I ended up getting a good deal on a pair of RTi8's, and couldn't be happier with them as far as HT use goes. Not the most musical speaker around though IMO.

    Good luck with your search.:)

On my other thread most replys say not to biamp these. Especially if I am sending power from a external amp and the other from my receiver because of differant gains. Has anyone out there tried biamping the RTI10's or 12's and using two differant amps? I would also consider buying a RTIA9. I have heard they have better reviews than the 12's but then there is the cost.Would the RTIA9 match my CSI5 center? (I love this center channel)and RTI5's Thanks for all the responses and let me know you opinion!

The RTiA9's are the newer version of the RTi12. They're essentially the same speaker, with a slightly different cabinet architecture. The curved cabinet design is supposed to make them more acoustically inert, and help tame the brightness that has plagued the RTi series in the past.

I can't vouch for them myself, as I've never compared the RTi's and RTi A's side by side. Many other people seem to agree that the A's have a slightly more refined sound though.

I think those curved cabinets look dead sexy too.

Since the 12's and the A9's are basically the same, either one would match up just fine with your CSi5.

I just got the RTI12's and the CSI5. What else (rear speakers??, receiver, amplifier) do i need for completing the sound portion of my HT? I am new to this so would appreciate a recommendation.
