Running a set of the 6 1/4 on a Headunit 45x4 is their any way to blow them because of having up to loud or is it because they were simply underpowered?

Yes, and both. Running them off of a headunit is underpowering them. If you keep it at moderate levels you should be ok, but turning them up loud the the point of your headunit amp(s) clipping (very likely) could cause some serious damage.

you are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
underpowering them
horribly
lol
ur 45x4 is probably 15-22 x4
if you have momo components you really really really really need to get an amp
these things are rated at 125 watts
ur giving the 22
thats bad
lol
sorry if i sound all mad
but im just trying to stress how much you need to get an amp

is it just me.... or is anyone else wondering why our GM friend shells out a lot of money on a 300 dollar set of components and then gives them DECK POWER ????
that's like buying a w7 and.... and nothing.... thats like buying a w7. *there's your humor for the day*.
Nah cody is right...you NEED a minimum of in the ballpark of 75 watts per channel RMS power from an amplifier... not your deck. ideally... something like 125 - 150 x 2.
suggestion for a cheap good amp.. Pioneer GMX 972 -- 175 bucks at crutchfield and it does 150 x 2 into 4 ohms...The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
