What are you going to drive with them! Watch out for the 565's. A lot of them have failing caps that raise the cost $200 each plus shipping. Are they local to you? Do you have a multi meter? Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Do you know their working conditions? I've heard the 565s has problems with the power supply caps in the past and requires upgrades / fixing sometime during their life.
The 5802 is very good Nelson Pass designed amp and worth anywhere from $700-$900 if it's a good working amp. The 565s are also worth $600 -$800 for a pair so you are getting a good deal if they all works fine and in good cosmetic condition.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

Kinda true. The caps in question are the 5 Elna caps that are on the input board, and 1 per output board. These caps are cheap, and easy to replace. They don't all require fixing. A simple measurment with a multi meter can tell you what is going on. It is a fairly easy test.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Those prices seem a little high,I would say $800.00 would be fair.Linn AV5140 fronts

Depends on if the 565's have been re done. Local means he can hear them, and test them. No shipping. I would shoot for $1000 in this economy, but that would be stealing them.Please. The 565's since they are mono's are NOT common ground. The 5802 is NOT common ground.
For both you'll need to tie the negative speaker terminals together. Be sure to use heavy duty cable as well as some nice connectors.
Enjoy

That's a very low ball price.
Typically 565's as a pair go for about $750-850
The 5802 for $750-900. If you can get them for $1200-1400 you're doing well. There are always exceptions and in this economy some people are desperate but to offer $800 for both might have the guy showing you the door very quickly;). I know I would laugh you out of the room.
