That's a ridiculously high price. Condition depending, an average price would be somewhere in the $350-500 range.

You must live near me. I saw a pair on CL for 80 bucks today."They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I sold a pair for something like $850.00 a few years back. Of course, they were better than new.Political Correctness'.........defined

Of course
BTW will you give us a briefing on what you thought of them? -
Too much bass, completely overdone loudspeaker. The 11TL is the winner in that lineup.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I had the RTA 15TL in Minneapolis They are very nice but like dorokusai said they have to much mid bass and in a direct comparsion with RTA 12Bs in three different sessions with three different people the results were consistant across the board. The RTA 12 was WAY more open and clear. The music comming from the RTA 15TL sounded well , like it was coming from a box in comparison. The RTA 12 seemed to be quicker and had better defintion and sounded more like live music. What was a little bit of a surprise was the RTA 12B had more of a foundation on the very very bottom. The RTA 15TL was alittle thicker above that which hurt voices and such. Somewhat like the LS 90 but not as heavy . One experienced listener said "in a heartbeat" he would take the 12s over the 15s and the other commented it sounded like across between a home theater speaker and one for music. Your mileage may vary.
Here is a question , what does RTA have to do with the 15TLs?? On the 12s it is well documented. In fact if you look at the engineering that went into the RTA12s (which were around from 1979 to 1987) with the two crossovers, the top tweeter and even the design of the top hat, the way the outside drivers are rolled off.ect it is no wonder it won so many awards. The 15 just seems like a conventional toer speaker. I looked the crossover on it. Looks pretty simple. So what is with the RTA?? -
Old post, I know. I'm a fan of the RTA-15tl. Placement is key. Too close to a wall will be bass heavy, a foot or two out and they are much better. As for pricing, I bought my first pair seven years ago for $75.00 and just bought the second for $260.00. Many other speakers have come and gone, but I won't let go of RTA-15tl's. My 2¢.
