Maggies for $70 ?

I found this local ad today.. Magneplanar SMGa's for $70 I wonder if someone is playing a joke or what.. from the pic they look ok.. I don't know anything about Maggies though. so i emailed the seller. Not that I need any more speakers. but for $70 (or less) I might :p

    Buy them and see if you can fix them up. $70 is cheap, especially if they work.

    I saw a pair for $25 here but I don't have the breathing room for maggies.
    I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

    $70.00 does not sound bad to me for SMGas . Even if they have a corroded tweeter , or have some de lamination ( which appears to be normal for the older maggies ) , You have not invested that much , if You chose to not continue to explore the wonderful world of maggies .

    They are not hard to fix ( inless the mylar is F&&*ed up ) . . . I am working on a pair of MGIs i bought for $49.00 . . . They will get new tweeters , and cross overs and of course . . . hardwood frames .

    I'll probably be into them around $350.00 dollars total . . . and they'll sound Spectacular ;-)
