Hello,

I just upgraded to a new A/V reciever Onkyo SR607 and I was trying to find some speakers that would go with my current setup.

Here is what I have:
PSW 202
CSi20 - Center
R30 - Left & Right Fronts
R15 - Surround Left & Right

I want to keep it relatively cheap without impeding on sound quality. Suggestions would be awsome. Need Rear speaks + subwoofer.

Thanks,
Justin

Rind another set of R15s so your back soundstage is all the same.
    Main Surround -
    Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub

    Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250

    Den - Rotel RSP-1068 / Threshold CAS-2 / Boston VR-M60 / BDP-05FD

Ah it happens that r15's are discontinued, and I wouldn't want to buy a USED pair of speakers. How do I know what the upgraded model of this speaker would be?

If you want new, you can pick whichever of the R/T/M that you think looks best to you.

The only meaningful difference between them is the front port of T15 and M10 (Newegg item N82E16882290123, btw), which should work better for wall-mounting.

Another option, if you can use R30 towers for sides, is to upgrade your fronts to R50 from Fry's for $69 + sh each.

Yes, quite right, you are wrong :-)
Monitor 30 and TSi100 are fine little bookshelves, but are a bit more detailed than R/T/M.

Instead of going w/ 7.1, I wud consider selling your front stage and upgrading your front stage w/ Monitor or RTi series, based on ur budget..

Personally, I think you'd get the most improvement by upgrading your fronts/center.

If you decided to go that route, I'd upgrade to some Monitors or RTi's, like vijayl suggested.

You'd still be able to go 7.1 like this too. Use the R30's as surrounds, and the R15's as surround backs for a while, until you've got the coin to upgrade to Monitor/RTi's for the surrounds as well.

Go to best buy and pick up a pair of Polk T-15. If I'm not mistaken these are R-15's in a different finish, sold only at Best Buy. You'll want to make sure your rear channels are timbre matched to your rears
