SDA-1A versus SDA 1C
I have a chance to buy some 1A's in my area for a good price ($400.00 cdn). I'm just wondering how they compare to the venerable 1C's. Anyone withe experience please share. Thanks.

I'd take the 1C's over the 1A's anyday.

This. $400 cdn for SDA 1A is a terrible price.SDA 1C, SDA 2A, SDA SRS 2, CMT-340SE, Swan M200MKII, Swan D1080MKII, Behringer MS40
Outlaw Audio M2200 x2, GFA 555 II, BGW 750C
GDA 700, Outlaw Audio Model 990, Sansa Fuze, X-Fi Platinum Fatality -
Not even a close comparison. The 1C's. But you have to decide based on how often either of these come up FS in your area. 1A's are certainly better than no SDA's at all. But if you have the opportunity to get either, even if the 1C's are costlier, there is no question.
With 1C's you get.....
1) better drivers
2) much better cabinet and internal structure
3) a better x-over that does the dimensional part much better.
4) smoother overall sound and a better more coherent presentation.
Like I said 1A's are better than no SDA's at all. Do the 1A's you're looking at have the (2) vertical tweets or are they side by side? Sid by side is least desirable of all.
Good luck
