Are you still in the area? I have the Atrium 45's and 60's. Stop by and hear both.
I haven't heard the 65SDI yet, but its main advantage is Stereo in one speaker (as opposed to eeding a pair) if that's what your after. I haven't tried an outdoor sub yet-nor have I tried a reg sub outdoors. If you can make it by, I'll hook one up.
I am a fan of the styling of the sub30/sat10 combo though.____________________

I have the Atrium 65's, They are excellent speakers, very good bass (for an outdoor speaker) with crisp clean highs with a classic Polk sound. You can drive them to very high volume levels.
Before placing them outside, I hooked them up to my main system and ran them for a few days (to break them in). they sounded very good, my wife didn't realize the LSI-15 wasn't hooked up.
I have mine wired for seperate R\L stereo config., you can also wire as a 1 speaker stereo setup.
These are pretty large speakers so if you have a tight space measure first.
I have listened to the 55's also , I think the 65's are much better sounding especially in the low end.
Hope this helps

Yeah you can do that. Right now I'm using my Squeezebox digital out to an MSB DAC then to an H/K PA2000 for my 55's right now. It sure sounds sweet. Low end is pretty good, but I'm sure you'll definately need the sub if you garner any appreciation from any set. Just keep in mind sub bass might disturb your neighbors if you have any close by.____________________

A set of Atrium Sat 30 and Sub 10 (or two?) were playing at Al and Hedy's house on Sunday of MD PolkFest '08. For an open patio I think they worked quite well.

I noticed that Amazon has the black Atrium 60s for $220 which seems like a real good deal (the white ones are double that). -
