    3. been looking at the valab nos/cambridge azur dacmagic/Beresford tc-7520
    4. as far as what kind of sound---deeper bass and more forward highs

    I second and ADCOM DAC. GDA-600 (can be had for around $175) or GDA-700 if you want HDCD decoding ($225-$300).

    That's because the one on the Gon right now is a modified unit. When a stock unit shows up, I'm sure it'd be cheaper.

    I have a GDA-700. I was going to mod it and stick it in a 2ch setup, but I don't really have room right now so I think I would be down to sell it. I think I got it for $300...? I'll sell it for $300 since I only used it for like a month and haven't touched it since. Pretty close to mint condition except one mark that the previous owner, ben, had covered with a marker. You can't really see it except when inspecting.

    Extremely clean, dynamic sound with awesome detail. Let me know if you're interested...

    Lol. No. But I gave up on the idea when I realized I had no room. I was using it for my desktop setup, but I got the Outlaw 990 for relatively cheap so now there's almost no use for the DAC. My parents don't care for a DAC on their TV speakers (SDA SRS 2) and they don't listen to music except through the active speakers I set up for them.

    I guess, technically, I could give it to my sister, but she doesn't care for extra burden of setting up the audio components.
