in wall / ceiling enclosures

Hi all,

Anyone have any experience with the enclosure cabinets. i am looking to have in ceiling surrounds and l/r fronts installed. Are the enclosures made to also run horizontally in ceiling joists? Is it the volume of the cabinet or psoitioning that is most critical?
