Need Just One F/X300i

Anybody?

I've upgraded to a 6.1 setup and need just a single F/X 300i to match my other two. I can't find a single anywhere. Thanks.:)

    You might have a hard time finding a single FX speaker, because I'm sure you figured out that they are available in pairs only.

    Since you are looking for a rear speaker let me suggest that you try a center channel speaker instead. I think you'll get better results from a direct radiating speaker mounted behind your seating area than you would get from a bipole/Dipole speaker.

    Just my opinion and a million others, go for a CS245i, or a CSi30

    I agree w/ both. Go with direct radiating. I think the CS245i would be ideal for you......if not go with CSi30

    OK, well, you guys convinced me. Two questions though: What would be the best way to mount the CS245i or CSi30? I'm assuming they don't come with brackets since my CS400i didn't at the time I purchased it. Also, will both models match well with my RT600is, CS400i, F/X 300is and PSW450?

    Thanks for the warm welcomes also. I've been lurking around here since I got my Polks in Jan. 2002, but I've never had to ask anything since the wealth of information around here pretty much answers any questions I have.

    Yes, the 245/30 will match your other speakers.

    Yes they will, except the CSI30 has a different tweeter, try to bag a CS245i. you can make a shelf is need be. right?

    The handiest man in the world I'm certainly not, as I've proven over the last two days while trying to paint my dining room. Uggh. However, I think I can manage a shelf. I'll try anyway. Thanks.

    Take a look at the "system showcase." I'm sure you'll find a few fellow polksters with center channels for the rear center and be able to get some ideas. Or just go to Home Depot or Lowe's and bring your speaker and ask them what's the best way to put it up. Good luck!

    Get one of those IKEA shelves that has the support brackets inside the shelf so it appears your shelf is floating. They're certainly not industrial strength, but they look pretty good without a lot of ugly brackets hangin around.........

    Here's one, but they have several sizes. Can always call them for the correct size that you're looking for on your speaker....

    Well, I'm going with the CSi30. Found a great deal on one locally last night. Any specific tweak I should do to make it match with the others as well as possible? The difference should be very minor as it is from what I've been reading.

    I'll also look into the shelving options you guys have suggested. Thanks a bunch.

    I built a wrap around shelf in the back of my HT room for my CS245i's. I'll post a pic. I also built individual shelves for my f/x1000s. I'll post of pic of those too.

    Dr. Spec, thanks for the photos. You're pretty damn handy with a hammer, saw AND some speaker wire. Looks like you've bagged some game from the pictures also. :)

    Polkatese, 7.1 in the foreseeable future, probably not. Just got my Sony DA2ES a couple of months ago and I'm not going to get the green light to upgrade that for several years I'm sure.

    I pick up the CSi30 today. Thanks again guys.

    it's not as fancy as specs(great job i must say) some has a nice router i take it :) i need one of those, But here is my rear center shelf, its just 1" x 8" pine board with sides made out of the same and i just shaped them like brackets, sanded and painted black.. easy easy, now a router would have prettied the edges up like specs, but you get the idea
