I'm looking for outdoor speakers, I've been looking at the Polk Atriums... leaning towards the 55. I don't have a big patio, but I want good sound. I haven't auditioned any outdoor speakers, any reviews?
I'm open to used ones? The Atrium 55 are $220 on ebay :(

Thanks guys!

I have Atrium 45 and they amazes me. Can't believe how a good sound can come from such a small speaker!

I have heard both the Definitive Technology AW6500 and the AW5500. Both sounded great but the AW6500 had a little better base.

Pablo, I would take a serious look at the Atrium sat30 and sub10. Very, very versatile, built to last and they give you options and features that most outdoor speakers do not offer. Not only that, but check this photo out. Where are the speakers?

Trust me, the speakers are in plain view. Great sounding outdoor speakers. They are not like what you are used to seeing and hearing in an outdoor speaker.

Thanks, I was looking at those, but they are a bit out of my budget.. I want to stay in the $200 - $250 range

Are they hanging above the table? Are they water resistant? I thought about installing outdoor speakers but worried they wouldn't last long due to exposure to the elements.

Yes and Yes. They are specifically built to withstand the elements, so there's not much worry there. If you have any questions, you can always call Polk CS at 866-764-1801 to find out more information. Just FYI, the sub is underneath the fern and the pods that are hanging down can also be mounted in the garden, on the wall or wherever you would want them to be. When mounted like that, you have the option to beam the sound to a specific area. Also, if I'm not mistaken, let's say you mount them in the garden and you accidentally run over them with or knock them over with the tire of a lawn tractor.......they were designed to "break away". That way, you don't have to keep replacing the mounting bracket every time there's an unintended bump. Pretty cool actually and they sound great to boot.

Oh, they are not mine Steve. This pic was taken right off the Polk website. I was just lucky enough to demo them while up at Polk HQ's a couple of months ago and I took some mental notes. It's a very nice system and well thought out.

I've always been pleased with my purchases from Polk Direct, even though they were Refurb's they looked and sounded brand new.

I love my Atrium 65's, now that they are properly broken in they sound fantastic.

    Good Luck!!!
