HDMI from Denon 3910 problem

Just received the Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH and have it hooked up. It has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 output (to HC1500 projector). So far, I have two HDMI devices. The Samsung HD tuner works fine. I get both audio and video without any problems.
The Denon 3910 is another story. When selecting DVD and the correct HDMI input, I get NO audio or video output. I finally figured out after a bunch of tweaking with it that if I don't have the projector turned on or I have the projector set to a different input (i.e. s-video) rather than HDMI, I get audio just fine from the Denon.
I tried changing the HDMI settings on the Denon between 720p and 1080i as well as from RGB to YCBr setting. No luck.
When the Denon is connected directly via HDMI to the projector without the amp in the middle, I get video signal no problem.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

could be the HDMI switching devise in your receiver, but lets see what others have to say.

BTW, tried this on both HDMI inputs 1 and 3 with the same result. (HDTV tuner is on input 2) Projector shows a green screen, then displays no signal so it looks like the amp is trying to synch with the projector but can't. I'm guessing it might be an incompatibility of the DVD player since I have 1 device working fine.____________________________________________________________

Did yu assign the HDMI port on the reciever to the input you are using?

Sure did. Tried assigning both output 1 and 3. When selecting DVD on the receiver, the projector clearly is receiving some sort of signal because the image turns green for a few seconds, then returns to a 'no signal' state.
I guess just to be sure, I should try the DVD player on HDMI out 2 since I know without a doubt that it is working for my HDTV tuner.____________________________________________________________

The Denon configuration has a ton of stuff related to HDMI. I don't use HDMI so I've never really payed to much attention to them, but to start make sure your "Pure Direct" setting (bottom right button on the front panel) is set to "Normal", and then either fiddle with the HDMI button on the front panel or hook it up via component temporarily so you can get into the menus and play with the settings.
Good luck, hope you can get it working.Speakers: Polk LSi15
