Hey guys, hoping to get some more help from you vintage guys. I'm still super new on all the vintage stuff (is that a paradox, maybe?)

Found some SDAs on CL and wasn't sure if they were the "TL" model that everyone seems to be so keen on having.

Thanks!

I think I can rule out the sl2000 tweets that came with the SDA SRS's. Could be the 3000's. These are not the original SRS's.

Lady said she called Polk and they said "$1,500 to $2,000." Is this hi/medium/low? Or does it depend on the model?

I would guess by the foam ring around them that they would be the 3000 series of tweeters.
The overall appearance is that of the 3000.
At first blush they look like TL's but above posters were correct in that the crossover plate and interconnect are usually the true confirmation of what level you are dealing with.
If that isn't a concrete answer I don't know what is.

With the foam ring around the dome they look like 2500's. I don't see the 3000's in the thread.

They could be 2500's with the foam ring, but they don't look quite right for them

I have seen the ad for these tonite already... (I do a daily sda search) here is a pic of the speaker. They are 1.2TL's. I would try and get them for say 1200.00 you could point out that the last pairs bouight on the forum were below a grand:)

    Good luck!

nope.... not those. I know the ones he is looking at by the way he described what the seller wants for them. The paint on the wall in his picture matches mine as well. I chose not to post up his link to protect the innocent and his interests...

Thanks. I'm talking with her via emails and she seems kinda stubborn. I'll use what you said above though thanks.

Those are, without question, SL3000 tweeters and they are in 1.2TL speakers.

$2000.00? WTF are you waiting for, buy them before someone smarter does.

Well, maybe it's just the inner bargain hunter in me; I've always been very price sensitive on this kind of stuff.

Why, in your opinion, are they worth the full $2,000. Is it because the condition? Are these speakers very difficult to restore (if they have bad drivers, messed up cabinets, etc?)

easy to restore cosmetically IMHO, but can be an expensive proposition for repairs/upgrades... 400.00 for RDO-198's/ crossovers are not cheap to upgrade either

Because they sound great. Some folks would give their left nut to own them for that price.

Well, I'll ask her, but some how I don't think she'll go for it. I think it's all or nothing.
