I bought the Queen Greatest hits dvd and I'm impressed!!
Bohemian Rhapsody is fantastic in surround, I may never
play it in stereo again. The DTS sound of this dvd is great,
the vocals are crystal clear and the bass and guitars sound
awesome.
Does anyone have any other music dvd's that have great
surround sound?
Thanks, Mike

My vote goes to Steely Dan's "Gaucho" on DTS...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

the Eagels hell freezes over is my favorite with great sound
also Fleetwood Mac-the dance in dd5.1 is very good with lots of bottom end. If you like john fogerty premonition sounds very good
(my be a little bright).and Elton John-live at madison square gardens the greatest hits this dvd sound very clean for a recording done live at msg. I have tried others but a lot of bad recordings out there. If anyone has heard any other good clean recordings let me know.

Roger Waters "In the Flesh- Live" is an excellent concert DVD with outstanding sound. If you like Pink Floyd give this one a shot.

    Greetings !
    As already mentioned:
Iron Maiden - Eagles - Roger Waters - Steely Dan.
Some others not yet mentioned (of course depending on your musical tastes, and IMHO)
    Yes - Symphonic Live (DTS)
King Crimson - Deja Vrooom (DTS)
    Yes - House of Yes
Judas Priest - Live in London
    Motorhead - 25&Alive "Boneshaker"
Joe Satriani - Live in S.F.
    G3 - Live in Concert
    David Gilmour - In Concert
Jethro Tull - Living with the Past (2 chnl only:( )
    Dream Theater - Metropolis 2000,Scenes from N.Y.(also 2 chnl only,if I'm not mistaken.)
The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Live in Japan (DTS)
Don Henley - Live Inside Job
Bill Bruford - Footloose in N.Y.C. (2 chnl only, and not the best camera work-kinda shaky and when they could have done nice close ups on the drumming technique, they shot the bassist or Bill's face etc. )
    Pink Floyd - The Wall

Also, Kinda expensive and both are 2 chnl only but...
Neil Peart - A Work in Progress and Mike Portnoy - Liquid Drum Theater (Both apx. 50.00 bucks each :supermad: )
But a must have for drummers or anyone interested in drumming techniques,or Rush and DT/LTE fans)

    Hopefully, more to come.

    CHEERS ! jefff

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have Premonition, Hell Freezes
Over, The Wall, Roy Orbison and King Crimson. I'll pick
up some of the others you've all suggested. I'll also add
the Steely Dan live Two against nature dvd.

What is the Queen DTS DVD...a collection of videos remastered as 5.1 DTS?

    I have:

    Eagles Hell Freezes over....great!
    Steely Dan 2 Against Nature....awesome!
    Beegees live at MGM...OK
    Diana Krall Live in Paris...Awesome!

Yes, the Queen dvd is a collection of their videos remastered
in dts 5:1. Great sound quality. I just bought the Best of Bowie
2 dvd set and it's great also. The sound quality varies from
stereo to 5:1 but if you're a fan of Bowie, it's a must own.

If you like that DVD much, you should check on the Queen DVD-Audio disc, beside the outstanding high resolution DVD-A track, it has the Bohemian Rhapsody video track with DTS sound. The DVD-A track sound superior to the DTS sound track.

I agree with PETERNG the DVD-a track is better than the DTS track at least on this Queen "A night at the Opera"
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
