so this family's 17 yr old kid goes to Mogadishu to an Al Qaeda camp

he gets sick, his family tells him to come home because he's sick. HE books a flight home from Nairobi (in and of itself takes balls) and the camp he joined puts a bullet in is brain pan.

also, did the family think we would be all cool. "Hey kid, welcome back, how was summer camp in the Mog!!!"

have we all collectivly lost sense with reality here?

discuss.

the not coming back part makes sense. I would imagine going over there, training, then coming back here is frowned upon at best.

I mean there is education abroad but cmon man!!

I guess I just dont get the logic. Like, "yeah, these guys in Al Qaeda will treat me real good and understand my teenage angst.....plus they have Playstations"

    are they effing serious?!?!

What is incredible is that it is known that there are people recruiting these kids in U.S. soil. And nothing is being done. or at least that's what it looks like.

The beauty of this country is that the reason nothing is being done to stop that recruitment is because the laws of this great land tell us that there is nothing we can do to stop them. For better or for worse, they are free to make that choice. We cannot stop the choice making. All we can do is act once the choice has been made. If they do break a law or commit treason, they are innocent until proven guilty by a jury of their peers.

While I think it sucks that people are out there recruiting, those recruiters are also free to do so. They are not breaking laws by persuading others to join their cause. They are merely spreading the word about their movement, whether it is good or bad. That principle right there is why this country was founded.

Yes, it sucks on both counts there but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. The freedoms those folks enjoy also give them the opportunity to abuse them as well. Such is life and the idea of free will. It's the ability to make your own choices. You are given all the rope in the world here in this country. Fortunately the great majority use that rope to climb as high as they can to soar above the rest and do and be everything then can, just like the army. Unfortunately, there is a small minority that would rather not put in the effort of climbing that rope and would rather hang themselves with it. For many reasons, blamed on religion or entitlement, but really an excuse for just not wanting to make the effort to get up that rope, they'd rather just cut everyone else's rope down and bring them to their level. They aren't free to do that because that impinges on everyone else's freedoms too. But you can't stop them from making the choice to try to do it, you can only stop the plan making and the actions or punish those plans already made and actions already taken. And hopefully award reparations to those whose freedoms were compromised by others actions.

It's both human nature and the essence of freedom. To do what you will, for good or for bad, whatever the consequences, it's your choice. Even though many don't think so, in the U. S. of A., you can still make that choice.

Jstas makes a good point, there is a price for freedom, and IMHO that price is worth it even though it may be painful at times. I just hope our intel community has enough to work with to make sure those that go to a known terrorist training camp aren't allowed to just come back to the US. Some decisions should have a consequence attached to them.

I'd invite some of them terrorist recruiters to come out to rural heartland and talk to us. Fertilizer is getting expensive and we could use a little more organic material in the soil.

It really makes you wonder about the job that the parents are doing. Do they every discuss whats going on with fanatics. What we have for a wonderful way of life verses what they have. I just don't understand how you can want you mother to have less rights than a farm animal. Maybe they took his game box away after his brain was fried. It's all beyond me

Call me heartless, but, I think Al Qaeda saved US a BUTTLOAD of money, when you consider court costs, prison expenses, etc.
Maybe if we load up MS-13 on a few charter flights....

Kinda reminds me of that song that was popular on TV back in the 60's:

    Hello Muda..........Hello Fada......

Here I am at.......Camp Al Qaeda

We are having.....Such a good time...

They say tomorrow they are going to shoot another.....

The US Government, specifically the State Department issued him a visa. You can't go to that country without one. Hillary Clinton killed him by issuing a visa.

I think they should have told the parents in person, and then shot them too.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Well, that's one less kid walking around complaining how hard he has it in this country and how evil Uncle Sam is. Living in the US is a privilege.
