hey guys, I am looking for an amplifier with a budget of about 800. I have my eyes on the emotiva xpa-5, but am open to other options, used or new. The qualifications are 5 channels, with enough power to run off a yamaha rx-v659 and push 2 rti a 7's, a csi a6, and fxi a6's. I like my stuff loud, so any ideas let me know! Thank you so much!

hey guys,
I just got an offer for a brand new sherwood newcastle a965 for 300. Any ideas? Advice from experience? All the reviews are great, and for what I was going to pay for the emotiva or rotel, this seems like a great deal. It does have (since I only have a 5.1 system) 2 extraneous channels, but considering the price, it doesn't seem to hurt having them there. Especially so since everyone beams about how it almost has 7 individual amps anyway. Let me know! Thank you!Bulls make money.

that's not a bad price the for the new sherwood. I have two of the older am-9080 and really like it. I've read that the specs for the 965 is a little misleading.
In any case, $300 is not bad for a reputable brand amp.Main Gear

Would you be interested in a ROTEL RB 956AX. It is a six channel amplifier.

Mark-
I have two separate systems and my fave system has the Emotiva XPA-5 amplifier hooked up to an Integra DHC-9.9 surround processor. The Emotiva XPA-5 is clean, powerful, and very good looking. It also is an incredible price for such a good-looking and powerful amp. The Emo drives my Monitor Audio Gold Reference speakers (and a self-powered HSU ULS-15 subwoofer) wonderfully and when watching and listening to a well-recorded soundtrack on Blu Ray, it can be an amazing experience. Heck, it sounds great on well-recorded cd's too.
