Knee Replacement for my Wife

Greetings! You may recall that last year my wife Maureen had the top and her knee cap relined. Originally the Orthopedic surgeon did not want to replace the bottom half of her knee as the procedure was more invasive and Maureen still had decent cartridge remaining. However, the cartridge wore through, gave way and bone contact was established, causing a lot of pain. The bottom half of her knee replaced yesterday. The procedure was successful and the surgeon is optimistic that her left knee problems will soon be behind her. She is in pain but has some fabulous drugs.

Yesterday after the procedure she scooped a spoonful of Jello from the container with a spoon and was bringing it to wards her mouth when her eyes rolled back into her head and she went into the twilight zone for a minute or two. She has also stopped talking in mid sentence only to resume right where she left off after two or three minutes. Morphine sulfate is where it's at! I'd like to bring some home (JK). I've been running around like a madman. She's doing fine, but still has some pain. I'm hoping to get her home on Monday.

I returned from Europe last week, pictures for Germany and the Czech Republic on the way. Weather sucked, but the sights of the architecture and the young women were stellar.:D Just ask George Grand!:)

god bless man and my best wishes towards a full and speedy recovery! Surgery like that ain't no picnic, but beware the meds. I almost lost my mom to morphine overdose while she was in the hospital for a minor surgery.

Glad your wife is doing ok.

I really could have used that after my Achilles surgery. The nerve blocker wore off much sooner than expected....you know the rest of the story.....3 percosets, 2 vicodins, and 7 hours later I was able to get a few hours sleep.

I know a couple of folks that have had knee replacements. If she does all the therapy and work they tell her to do she will be "better" than new in no time (at least her knee). Good luck to her.
