Suggestions on which speakers to use (and which you possibly buy)
Hello, let me start by thanking everyone for any help they can provide.
I have a few questions about my setup that I was hoping you guys could help answer...
My current setup:
Harman Kardon AVR-140
Polk Audio Monitor 40s (Front L/R)
Polk Audio CSM (Center)
Polk Audio T15s (SR/SL)
I recently purchased a Boston Acoustics MCS100 5.1 surround sound setup on clearance ($200... Good deal or rip off?) Mostly to use the subwoofer (As I don't have one, its an 8" Down firing 100w powered)
My question is this:
Should I use the Monitor 40s, CSM, T15s and the BA sub? Or would I be better off keeping the BA sats/center/sub together? I am assuming the larger drivers of the M40s/CSM would be superior to the smaller satellites.
Also, What x-over freqs should I be at when using either set of speakers?
To be specific, what should I set the x-over freq to with the monitor 40s/CSM, and what should I set the x-over freq to with the BA satellites?
Thanks again for anything you can help me out with!

My advise is to plug it all in and listen to it. Let your ears be your guide. If the BA system doesn't sound good to you, put the Polk speakers back in the mix, but leave the sub. Start by setting them as large, and x-over at 80 hz. You can probably find a better sub for 200 bucks though, and sell the whole BA system to get your money back. Check your local craigslist."They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Get some Monitor 30's for surrounds, a CS1 or CS2 for center and a better sub and you will be set.

Well i took your advice and purchased a set of Monitor 60s as my mains. This means the monitor 40s are now my surrounds. I think the T15 is pretty close to the monitor 30 so Im not sure they would be worth the money.
The BA setup sounded pretty awesome, I was impressed with how well it sounded, and how well the sub matched up with the satellites. I couldn't get over the fact that they sounded like just that... satellites.
Thanks for the suggestions
