Not sure how many have seen this, it was an Ad. in a recent Stereophile. I think it is pretty funny.

It looks like a few dealers in the NY area are at war with each other and this one (MSS HiFi) jabs at not only those dealers, but at the companies they carry. Hopefully the pic is large enough to read.

Some Excerpts:

"Since the middle of 2008, Dirty D and Stereo Exchange in Manhattan have been conducting secret and dirty acts of war against MSS HiFi, THEY WANT WAR, THEY'LL GET ONE.

"B&W: Not an authorized dealer, but we get them all the time: new, used and demo. To be honest, we would rather sell B&W on Ebay at $1 auction. If you are a critical listener, you know what we mean. We have many other speaker selections."

"Monster Cable, Kimber Cable, Richard Gray: these truly belong in the same sentence. Not an authorized dealer, we get them all the time plus we carry much better cables and power conditioners."

"Sonus Faber: Not an authorized dealer, but we have overseas connection, blow-pricing for Stereo Exchange shoppers."

"They've got an elf, WE'VE GOT FANTASY MODELS!
Fun atmosphere with hot babes in outrageous outfits...we will have one of our models buy you dinner with the purchase of select premium and special promotion items. What happens after dinner, Experience it yourself..."

That's the former JB Audio Pimp from Audiogon. While that's a refreshing ad, I'd never buy from him again.

i like the statement at the bottom of the ad. to paraphrase.."buy from us and one of our "models" WILL take you out for dinner. Dessert is between you guys..."
I would not buy from him either for fear of STD's:eek: or getting swept up in some police sting operation.

Anyone with Pimp in their name or title makes me wary, but that is some creative marketing!

I believe this woman is actually a sales person there, and from what I've read, quite knowledgeable.

I may take a trip up there sometime.
