I just bought a new cable but the sockets slots are too loose to use it. Does Polk cust. service still have sockets for sale too?

I don't know the answer to your question, but you could call them directly if you want to know asap, or post up above in the troublshooting section. Good luck!"Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

I came home earlier to see no replies at that time ,so I called cust, serv..They don't carry them but the serv. rep. directed me to the company that does. NEWARK... has the sockets. They are called cinch connectors. (two wire model). Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I don't believe I've heard of that problem before. Seems to me that the issue would be the new cable connectors rather than the sockets.Political Correctness'.........defined

I have an old Dynaco SCA-80Q that has this issue. No matter what cable i try, there is one set of inputs that is just too loose. Cable won't fit snug in there.
Happened on my old Kenwood cd player, too. I can't say what caused it for sure, as they were both like that when i got them.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

These sockets MUST have been abused at some point. The speakers were abused pretty good too for sure. Both sockets are useable if you jam wires in there but I don't know if it's making contact at all times with the bass impacts and rumbles and all. These are the speakers I asked the question about interconnecting cable blade configuration. One socket is upside down compared to the other so maybe someone has altered them at some point. I'll look inside the cabinets soon enough since I'm going to replace them and look for tampering of the sealant.
I saw where a member used XLR connectors instead and that might be a thing to do later on.
The new cable works great in my SDA CRS's. It fits nice and snug. Not overly tight like i would've liked but very snug. If the new sockets don't feel right, I'll go the XLR route. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

I was speaking of the SDA sockets. I have seen RCA inputs that are worn out, but the SDA sockets are not the same.Political Correctness'.........defined

I'm talking about the Sda sockets.
I was told earlier that some sockets are reversed in another thread and accepted that. I thought I read that some are not reversed too. I know it dose'nt matter about the oreintation but if some jerk messed with it and just put it back upside down, I'll find out soon.
Maybe they jamed nails into openings, I don't know. They are loose for sure, both speaker sockets.Just the blade female insides, not the whole socket itself. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
F1nut. I see now that you were talking to concealer404.
;)sorry..good nightMost people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Tony, I've never had to look into this and as I said, I've never heard of anyone else having the issue you have, but I tend to think that you could squeeze the socket grips back together. Take the binding post plates off, remove the glue and take a look see.
Once again, the sockets are reversed from the factory, so stop worying about it.Political Correctness'.........defined

my sda-1c's had broken connectors and I was told by Polk they were no longer available. Possible it was not available at that time. I replaced my connectors with female RCA connectors and run an RCA for my I/C.. I am well pleased with the performance. The Gear... SDA CONNECTING TYPE SYSTEMS:...I had also thought about a high end RCA or even another dual bannana plug connection replacements but oppted to stay original and when the cable arrived and the sockets were loose I thought maybe I should've went another route.I'm still working on the original look right now though.;)Most people just listen to music and watch movies. F1nut ..I still have to check the sqeezing method first. This frozen shoulder thing is terrible!:( I'm getting better but the discomfort I feel takes over and makes me forget my piority list.I was side tracked also buying that Carver amp. I'll get back soon on the connecting socket issue soon! Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

F1nut, I looked at them close this morn and could not get them closed so I went inside and removed them. They were corroded and very flimsy.Replacing was the way to go in my case. The operation toook a few hrs. and went very well. I now have very solid connections.:D I now have all new tweeters too.I had to replace one speaker binding post so I went ahead and did all 4 posts with some from parts express. That operation went easy too and turned out great. My wife and I replaced the grill cloth on the front grills and one day soon I'll get around to the sides.;)The wood caps and bases need alot of work and that's another project for another day. Most people just listen to music and watch movies.
