Thanks for the offer George, I'll be getting back in touch with you when I get some coin together.

I'm still turning over the possibility of the Wright, but I think I'd prefer the Dodd at this point.

The ELP on head-fi isn't available anymore, at least not for the moment. The guy's waiting on a new custom head-amp/preamp, and has decided to hang on to the ELP until it comes in. It sounds like he end up keeping the ELP afterwards regardless.

Yes, and in hindsight, I'm kicking myself for not taking Brock up on the NAK. At the time I was really set on having a remote control, but I'm willing to go without for now.

Curt check the RAS group..............I gave you another pre-amp suggestion.

A very decent company as well.

I say this because, looking at their website, I find the WIA1515 Integrated Stereo Amplifier described as a "no holes bared" design.

They are kind of "lab" looking,, aesthetics ain't their selling point, but the price to performance ratio is very good.If I end up with another one,I think that I'll replace the 2 caps inside with Sonicap Platinums,,or the VH audio caps.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

Do you mean that "no holes bared" is a technical term? I thought it was a mildly obscene typo. Perhaps I need counseling.

Thanks for the suggestion on the Dared SL-2000A Brock. I've got another one to toss around now.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Dared SL-2000A?

Yes, the aesthetics of the Wright don't do much for me. That's not a big concern either way, but a good looking unit is definitely a plus.

So your brothers ELP has HT bypass? Interesting, I've never seen an ELP with HT bypass. I doubt that I'd use it myself. What does it have as far as inputs/outputs? I'm hoping for one with at least 2 inputs, and 2 outputs. I'd like the second pair of outputs for setting up some stereo subs eventually. Not a huge factor though.

I see it's got the upgraded power supply too...I've noticed that some of them have an internal PS and some have an external PS. Is there any preference between the two? Is your brothers internal or external?

His ELP has the external power supply,,why,, because of hum,,HT was an option requested by the previous owner.I'll have to check on the outputs,,inputs,,3 IIRC.The only other thing that can be tweaked on the Dodd(according to Mr. Dodd) is to invest in some very good tubes. I hope you find what you are looking for,, the hunt is half of the fun.;)

Sounds like that's about what I'd want. Even if it only has one pair of outputs, it's not really a big concern. I doubt I'll be getting any stereo subs for several years yet, but it's always nice to be prepared for the future.

I don't think I'd really use the HT bypass, but having it isn't really a drawback. Better to have and not need, than need and not have.

I'll probably be taking this off his hands, if it's still available when I'm ready to buy. I'll get back in touch with you when I've got some coin together.

    Thanks George.:)
