I have a new pair of Monitor 40's...

Which stands, Wood or Metal and which height? Was wondering if one or the other had any undesirable qualities effecting sound?

Thanks,
Randy

what kinda speakers do you have and are you using them for tv? a ht pj ? . i have rti6 and fxi3's all in black and i must say that the wood technology solid hardwood ebony finish is like practicaly an extention of the rti cabinets, for ht you wana go with 21 inch fronts 19 inch centre and 40 inch to elevate the rears, idealy you should have the rears 3 foot above the ear and the front sound stage slightly below me thinks

These are excellent (the best, IMO) speaker stands and they will also custom make them to your specs.

if randys buyin m40's why would you post these guys website ? it just doesnt make any sense at all. All them stands are like 4 and 5 times the price of his speakers and would quite frankly look ridiculas mounted on them . Ive heard many a polkie say that your stands should not cost more than the speakers

He asked for suggestions and I offered one. Why should that matter to you?

All them stands are like 4 and 5 times the price of his speakers and would quite frankly look ridiculas mounted on them .

They are priced in CN dollars, so the single post 26" stand is actually $176.00 US. Why would they look ridiculous? Skylan will make the stands and plates any size you want.

Ive heard many a polkie say that your stands should not cost more than the speakers

You've been here less than a month. Just how many Polkies have said that to you? Besides, there's absolutely no reason a pair of stands can't cost more than the actual speakers.

just because i signed up a month ago means nought, you can access this site freely as a guest , My point is that its similar to buying a set of 2000 dollar rims for a car that cost 500

The OP asked for suggestions. Thuffman03 actually brought it up first that I had suggested stands in the past, but didn't have the link. I supplied the info. You don't have to buy a damn thing that I suggest, so again, why does it matter to you? That's a rhetorical question.

    BTW, your analogy is ridiculous.
