Cable Card Question

Quick question I'm hoping someone can answer. I have a Comcast high def cable box hooked to my TV. The TV has a cable cad slot and I'm thinking about getting a cable card to use instead of the box. But I heard (or read, can't remember) that if I do this, I lose the "guide" feature that shows everything playing on cable that night. An truth to this? Thanks, Chris
