Quite often, we sell gear, and most of the time, never see that piece again,,or even the person that bought it.I recently sold my Carver Amazing Platinums to a local polkie. Enter Jerry,, I first met him when he purchased a denon DVD player from me, he eventually ended up with my Plats. With a little luck,he was able to purchase a very mint pair(read NIB)Silver 9T amplifiers from a member over at the Carver Forum, who so graciously gave Jerry my"spot" in line for these amps.Yesterday,I got a call from Jerry,,"they're here",,, the 9's survived the journey. Today, I was able to make it over to his house to listen to his new system, and let him audition a tube pre. Everytime I go over,,he and Nikki are always very hospitable. I took a couple of pic's and asked his permission to post them here.It just makes one feel good when others take care and appreciate vintage gear such as this. When I owned them,I thought that they sounded very good,, but I think that it's safe to say that he has taken it to another level.Just wanted to share this with ya'll,,as I think that I'm just as excited about his 2 channel system as he and Nikki are. Have fun guy's,, you've done well.:)

Wow George thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate you helping me with this journey. How many people in this world would let someone else borrow their Prized Tube Preamp? Not many I'm sure.

Russ, hope you can get down at the end of the month. We will have a good time I am sure. I would like to hear that bad A$$ Denon. I have bought Niki a fresh set of stilts, you are in for a treat:D:D

While I am thanking here, I would like to thank my friend Ben. You have taught me a lot. ( BTW: He is not as accident prone as you may think.:D)

Nice story, makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. Like a big chocolate chip cookie or an apple pie right out of the oven. Nice to heare that you are enjoying those Plats. They are something special.

George, are Jerry's Platinums the ones that Ted used to own? I can't remember the trail of those speakers.

Carl,, I found the plats locally about a year ago,, the Amazings that were at/from Ted's are also at Jerry's waiting on another polkie to pick them up.

Yes, Roy they are,, I committed to Terry to buy them about 8 months ago,, but when I changed direction, and subsequently sold the plats to Jerry,,Terry was kind enough to let him(Jerry) take my place.I have never met him,, but he seems to be a prince of a fellow.
    Thank you Terry.

Congrats Jerry. I promise You'll fall in love with the Plat / 9t combo. You will never have to worry about it not being loud enough again, and you still get perfect clarity no matter how loud you go. I have greatly enjoyed mine for several years now. About two years ago I picked up an SDA/490t tube output CD player and the combo got even better. Six months ago I got a C-19 tube pre, and now I'm in heaven. Tube sources make the 9t's really sing.

I tell ya what. It is great to have great Polkies near by. These guys are truly friends. I need to get some time to get to Jerry's. A few things over here have had me pinned down. I hope to be back over to see the boys soon. A million reviews can't teach you what I have learned about synergy, and environment that we have been able to share here.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben
