Great movie...but my 21 year old daughter is leaving for a 2 month tour of Europe in 1 week.

& She'll be BY HERSELF for a while, too.

    Stink.

My daughter did that 2 years ago when she was 21. Thankfully, I received e-mails nearly every day.

If it came down to it I would do the Liam Neeson thing too....but in all likelihood, I'd get hit by one of those 3,000 bullets fired at me. :p

& She'll be BY HERSELF for a while, too.

    Stink.

Year before last my 22 year old daughter backpacked through Poland, Italy, France and London with a few other girls. She then went on alone to Oslo Norway to visit some friends and from there flew back to the US via London and Krakow by herself.

Last year she and a girlfriend spend 12 weeks in Africa (Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar). She flew from Knoxville, through Atlanta, and Zurich en route to Cairo by herself because her friend's plane was delayed getting to ATL. Went from the airport in Cairo in a taxi to the hotel about 20 miles away. That first text message from her proclaiming "she was in Cairo and it was a whole different world" was a little disconcerting...but it all turned out fine.

Make sure she has an international phone plan with the international texting package. I could talk to my daughter just about anytime. From Europe a cell call is around $2 a minute...but texts are are between .20 and .50 each. She will be fine.
