RT12 with CSi3???

I am looking for mains. I Can't find any information about the compatability of these two units. I've read about matching the RTi with the Csi, but can't find any information about the difference between RT and RTi. Will the RT12 work with the CSi3?
Thanks in advance.

polk audio has a chart for matching up vintage speekers with modern centers. It shows the rt12 best paired with the a6, which all the drivers would be the same size and probably sound great. What you plan to power them with should also be considered, the smaller csi3 should work fine with the rt12 and require less juice.

The RT12 is basically an early rev of the RTi8 or A5. The early revs of the RT line I've heard are a tad more laid back than current RTi speakers. A CSi3 will work...won't be perfect. You might want to look for something like a CS250 from about the same vintage.

Thanks to everyone for the assistance. I guess I will look for the RTi8's.

when I read your post, I googled "matching center speeker for rt 12" and it put me right back on polk's website with the chart. I wish I knew how to post the link for you, I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures on here. I suck with computers ::opanasonic th-50pz85u

Just come to the Polk website and put mouse over products tab at the top and move it down to the recent and vintage models tab. Click on that and then type in the speaker you are looking for.

It really doesn't matter. The site will always reference the closest match as referring to the current lines in production...not the closest matching speaker to the rev you're asking about. If you're asking about a floorstander, it will always be the CSiA6. If you're asking about an RTiA 5 or RTi8 it will suggest the A6. If you ask about a RTA 11T, it will suggest the A6.
